In celebration of 20 successful years in business, Sensory Technology is giving back to the community that has supported its journey. Throughout September, Sensory Technology has donated to eight charities and organisations across Ilkeston and Derbyshire, all of which provide vital services to the local community. These cash donations are part of the company’s initiative to recognise and support the invaluable work these groups offer.
As part of the campaign, Sensory Technology are spotlighting each of the chosen organisations, sharing their stories, services, and how they will utilise the donations. This will provide an opportunity for the wider community to learn more about these important groups and discover how they can also get involved and lend their support.
A recent organisation to benefit from this charitable initiative is OnUp, a community group that provides daytime opportunities for adults with learning differences and additional needs. OnUp offers a diverse range of services aimed at developing essential life skills, promoting healthy living, and enhancing social and work-related abilities. Their programmes include activities such as cooking, baking, arts and crafts, gardening, and basic maths and English, as well as specialised groups for both men and women, leisure activities, and general household skills training.
With Sensory Technology’s donation, OnUp plans to improve their outdoor space by creating a garden where they can grow herbs and vegetables. The area will also serve as a tranquil outdoor seating space. In addition, OnUp is currently fundraising to build a bar and games room to enhance their offerings to the community.
