Antur Waunfawr – Sensory Room Installation

Antur Waunfawr Sensory Room

Overview

Antur Waunfawr is a leading social enterprise based in Wales, providing work and training for individuals with learning disabilities.

As part of a project to improve the local offering, Antur Waunfawr developed a purpose-built facility, home to Beics Antur – an inclusive cycling project along with a wellbeing loft with a wide range of services available for public hire, including a unique Multi Sensory Room.

Project Brief

The brief for this project was to create a multisensory room inside a unique ‘loft’ space designed to support visitors with profound disabilities.

Senteq’s Area Designer met with the client on site to discuss the requirements in detail. The space was totally unique, featuring a low-level sloped ceiling and a grade II listed feature wall. Therefore, viewing the space and taking key measurements proved extremely valuable during the design process.

The client wanted to ensure that the room supported a wide range of service users. The proposed equipment installed featured a range of visual, sound and tactile equipment along with soft furnishing to make sure the visitors were comfortable in their surroundings.

Sensory Installation Process

Senteq’s qualified electrical engineers installed the specialist equipment. All equipment was fitted to the highest of standards with all electrical equipment conforming to the 18th Edition regulations.

The featured products include:

Sensory Room Training

Once the installation process was complete, our engineering team conducted a training session with key members of staff to ensure they could provide the ultimate sensory experience for their visitors.

Client Feedback

Since the installation, the room has been extremely well utilised by the client and local community. This local offering enables service users to enjoy sensory experiences with their families/carers.

As always, we were delighted to work with Antur Waunfawr on this project and are over the moon with the fantastic feedback.

We are exceedingly happy with the sensory room and the customer service. The engineers were fantastic and I know that we can always contact a member of the team for support. We have worked with Sensory Technology before and keep coming back due to the excellent service and support.
